Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect when I sign up for private training?
We begin by scheduling your initial consultation and having you fill out a behavioral evaluation. During the initial consultation, which lasts up to 90 minutes, we will access your dog, discuss specific issues that may need to be addressed and begin a program suited to fit those needs. Notes and handouts will be sent within a few days. We will discuss additional training options during our first meeting. Concurrent sessions will last about 1 hour.

Why use treats and will I always have to use them?
We all love a paycheck! That is what treats are for your dog…..a paycheck. In fact, any resource that your dog likes or needs can become a paycheck. We show you how to properly use resources to your advantage to get the behaviors that you want. Over time, we will show you how to wean your dog off of requiring these resources for every behavior. Let us show you the difference between a bribe and a paycheck!

What can I expect from a group class?
You can sign up and pay on-line in order to hold your spot! Once you sign up, you will be sent an email confirming your payment and class time. You will receive an enrollment form as well as a list of what to bring to the first class. Our class size is limited to ensure enough time for each student and dog attending.

Do you guarantee your work?
It is impossible to guarantee behavior of any kind. We can no sooner guarantee a dog’s behavior than to guarantee yours. The guarantees we make are the following: we will work our utmost to help build proper communication between you and your dog, we will never harm your dog, we will never give up on your dog!

How long will the training take?
Your dog is learning his entire life! The training never stops because behavior constantly changes. That is why we provide training for the life of your dog. Puppies, adolescent and adult dogs all have a place with our training programs. Never stop teaching your dog something new!
